Nine days break! 🙁

Having had a nit so good run nine days ago I seemed to have lost the desire to run ☹️

Last week I just didn’t feel well, not I’ll, just not well so I went back to being a couched potato. Yesterday I knew I had to go, but every excuse came out and I stayed at home. It was just too hot.

Stress of work meant I could not sleep. Worrying about meetings meant at 5:15 I gave up and went downstairs. Not too warm, I could go for a run. Little gremlin suggested that I was too tired, his little friend suggested I check the weather forecast.

Okay nice temperature out there and no rain forecast. This was the make or break time. I know myself and realised if I didn’t go today I likely would never go again!

Running gear donned, podcast found and off I went. 15 minutes from home the rain started 💦💦💧💧. Contemplated calling someone to get me 🤦🏽‍♀️ But carried on.

So glad I did. 5k done, not the fastest time but I remember why I run. I feel so good 😊. If only I could package this feeling and pull it out on my bad days. Never gave work a thought the whole time I was running.

What a great post! I'm sorry to hear you've been in the doldrums. Sometimes life just gets in the way. Stress and the daily grind can really effect motivation.

That being said you did it. You put on those shoes and you ran and ran a good distance. Plus you didn't let the gremlins in mid run either.

I agree it would be amazing to bottle that feeling but all you can do is chalk up the experience and keep it in your bag of tricks for next time.
