How long to rest up after pain?

I felt like i'd been doing ok with couch to 5k and attempted wk 7 run 1 with a little more pace than I've used before. I noticed that i was using my right leg more than my left (my ball and socket are connected to my right leg by titanium rods - maybe they're different lengths?). Anyhow, started to experience pain in my right hip and lower right back about 15 minutes into the run; and, stupidly, continued.

Now using my walking stick to walk around the house... So, I was beginning on week 7, how long should I rest up (after the pain has gone?).

Wait until pain free and movement has returned to normal. Test by walking or her gentle jogging before restarting.

As stated in the guide to the plan, healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running.

After that loss of condition is gradual.

All any of us can do after a lay off is to go out and see what we can comfortably manage, then build back up gently, using C25k or something similar as a guide to weekly increase.
