Ooh that was hard work especially after 8 hours & 264 miles hooning (motorcycling at a brisk pace) around Dartmoor yesterday. (Apologies if it was me and my mate that spoilt your peace and quiet). Some questions come to mind on the completion of week 1:

Why is it that the sun comes out just as I start to run, I was feeling quietly smug as I drove home because Camborne was clouded over and 2 degrees cooler than Hayle where I work. Not when I walk out the back gate it my runners it wasn't--sun out, temperature instantly raised and I sweated buckets.

Also why is it that I always feel like I need a poo half way round even though I have remembered to visit the smallest room before setting out ... it is always gas but doesn't feel like it.

Why does my phone always shuffle up Black Sabbath or AC/DC on the first run rather than the penultimate or last runsand then have something gentle towards the end. Ran far to quickly, 4'30"/km for those first two minutes and then had to really had to grunt it out towards the end. Oh and I hate it it when the end of a track comes 10 seconds or so before Jo tells me to slow down, what a tease!

Why is it I think about my next run with anticipation at least once an hour from the end of the one just completed.

Dead proud of myself getting thus far--- what am I going to be like in 8 weeks time.

I had a strong feeling of needing to go both ways today. This was about half way round and at the end of a bit of a climb. I'm putting it down to an adrenaline thing. I didn't actually need to go until about two hours after and I'd finished.

Runners' gut is a real thing. Try to avoid a fatty breakfast, caffeine or sugar before a run. Apart from that, your gut might learn to live in peace with your new pastime, but it doesn't always work - just ask Paula Radcliffe.
