Running does get better !

I did my 14th consolidation run on Saturday, still using Laura's "Stepping Stones" which have helped me build up a bit of speed.

Something seems to have "clicked" - Yes, it does finally happen :) :)

Running is still, as always, not a very nice experience for me but it's getting less horrible and becoming just about bearable, although the stamina it's giving me is really good and making me keep at it.

Well, for the very first time, I found the rhythm of Stepping Stones too slow, so I just ran at my own pace all the way, using the audio to keep me motiovated.

I probably did the whole run at the "final fast pace" of 165. I increased my distance to about 4.4 K (previously 4 K).

So hopefully, one day I might actually enjoy running. I really really want that to happen.

Hiya, that’s amazing! I’m due to graduate on Wednesday, am only doing around 4K in 30mins which isn’t great but like you I’m just happy to be running these distances. I’ve downloaded the stepping stones app and was wondering about it and it sounds like it has helped you build speed. I’m exhausted by 20mins so wondered how it’s possible to increase pace.

Just keep doing what you can and it will come gradually. Going slow can simply mean shorter steps. So, when you have graduated, use stepping stones and run at the pace defined by the music but do not try to make long steps, just do the steps you feel happy with. The speed of the pace increases from 155 to 160 in the middle, then to 165 for teh last 5 minutes. You'll find you can do it. And as you progress, your steps will get longer.

I am assuming you are running outside. If you are on a treadmill, simply adjust the speed to make yoru steps shorter or longer.

I hope this helps.
