Hello, all you lovely people!
I graduated from C25K seven months ago and you can read all about my highs and lows in my posts. (On that, does anyone know how to find the exact date of an old post? I would love to find the date I posted my W9D3 post!)
Since this time, I:
- Really got into running and fitness (I am very close to my goal weight!)
- Injured my back and got scared out of doing anything too intense, including running
- Have missed running so much
Yesterday wasn't a good day. I received a text from someone that put my head in a tailspin. I ate too much pizza and ice cream. I felt horrible this morning.
But, I thought, screw it. I was an emotional mess. My phone battery was at 8%. It's mandatory to wear a mask for the walking part of my run where I live (and, let me tell you, wearing one while cooling down is one way to ensure I wash it after every use!). I felt bloated.
But, no. No excuses. I plugged my phone into my portable charger. I put on my mask. And I headed out.
God, I've missed running. I've missed the first 5-10 minute slog. I've missed the sound of my feet on the pavement. I've missed the hypnotic rhythm and the high you get. I've missed pushing through when my body wants to stop.
I'm back. Yes, I'm going to ease into it slowly. But I'm back. And I am loving it.
Hope you are all staying sane, happy and healthy in this mad world we live in.
Happy running 😊
