Week one complete

Never ever run in my life! School sports never happened. I’m more of a lone sporter. (But not very good on exercise in general) I am considered as obese and in my 60’s with moderate asthma. I have a couple of questions

1. Do I have to do every other day? If I carry on exercising other ways at weekend, can I run Mon/Wed/Fridays

2. As I’m very unfit, can I repeat week one?

Well done you for starting. I couldn't do week 1 six weeks ago and it was a struggle to get out to do week 2 but my nine year old, who hated running, got me going and we have done it together - there have been tears and laughter! Definitely do repeats - I repeated week 3, I do 20 minutes of gentle stretching yoga on my days off and MWF running makes it much more convenient and you know those are your running days. I am in my very late 40s and a size 16 and I know it must be easier for the more slender but do keep going - I ran for 25 minutes this morning and don't care that I am bright red and very wobbly - no one can take that 25 mins away from me and you'll feel the same. Good luck!

Thank you!! I’m laughing at the wobbly bit. Part of my run takes me past the river Thames at the estuary so I must look like an escaped whale!! Glad you said about repeats. I really feel my breathing needs another go so I establish it and get used to being out of breath but it’s not my asthma. Great advice. Love the fact you’re running with your son. What a good example to him. Keep going !!
