On a week stay-cation at the mo. Although keen to do more consolidation runs my dodgy right knee and touchy left ankle at the end of last week made me have a bit of a re-think and I’ve done some walks instead. 9, 7 and 4 miles in beautiful peaceful countryside. Bit achy but no more than that.

I’m sad I’m not running this week but pleased I’ve had the sense to listen to my body and not pursue runs at the risk of injury. Thanks to everyone here for your wise words and cautionary tales.

Starting back at work on Monday so will return to my usual Mon/Wed/Fri morning slots (all being well) to continue consolidation. It’s good to run but also good to know when not to - another important lesson learned for me.

Great! Non running exercise will keep you on top form for when you get your running shoes back on.

I had a short 20 min brisk walk today on my rest day. Explored a path I spotted running next to the supermarket car park before doing some shopping.
