W7R2 - surprising myself all the time!

Week 7 is teaching me so much!

First I found out my Fitbit was not paired to GPS and my pace and distance was totally wrong. I am much slower and do not run as far as I thought 😦. I was so disappointed as I started to run on day one of the week and my pace was on average 10’ per K rather than 7’. However, I kept running and telling myself that I could not even run 5 mins 7 weeks ago. I persevered!

Today, run 2 of the week was another revelation! I forced myself to run in a more public place and more challenging route (hills!) I got very out of breath after the second hill 14 minutes in, but I pushed through the discomfort, kept going and eventually my breath settled back into a good rhythm. I was on such a high that I carried on running after Laura said my run was over and ended up running 31 minutes! I could have happily carried on running, but I didn’t want to over do it.

If you’re read up to here, thank you, I needed to share this! This week has told me that even though there are set back and disappointments, they are there to help you learn. Running has improved my mental health enormously and what I am learning about myself doing C25K I can now use in every day situations.

Good post from you EsmeraldaC, it is very good to hear from you that running with C25K has improved your mental health, many people will agree with you on that, onwards and upwards to run 3 of week 7, not long now until you graduate.
