Back out there

Well after reaching week 5 I tore my calf muscle and had to rest and follow my physios advice. Today 6 weeks later on the injury couch and now pain free I tentatively (serious Japanese slow running!) got back out there and completed week 1 run 1 and gained confidence in my leg by the last few runs. Felt easier this time around from breathing and pacing point of view. Gonna build up slowly to let my body adjust. I’ve so missed running and it’s great to be back!

Fantastic news! Well done for coming back to it. I went back to the start of C25K at the end of last year after a 5 month layoff - that first run was just magic, apart from the fear of pain of course! It takes time, but your confidence in the calf will return - just remember to work through C25K slowly and steadily and be mindful of any niggles. Good luck and enjoy!
