Really, really didn’t want to do the 2nd run today, legs stiff & doing the stairs was trial enough after the 1st run Sunday 😂 but forced myself & did do and now feeling pretty chuffed! Just hoping I can manage stairs tomorrow 🤞

Well done.

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow, as recommended in the guide to the plan.

Many people do not hold their stretches for long enough or put enough effort in. Hold post run stretches for 30 seconds and make sure the pull is strong enough to be on the verge of discomfort

I know about the stairs thing. The first attempts at C25K back in March and April had me very wobbly on my pins afterwards. I also had a bit of knee discomfort going down stairs. That's gone now.

Now I'm merely aware that my legs are a bit grumpy when I climb stairs after a run.

As Ian says, stretching will help.

Well done! I found W1R2 the hardest one I have done (finishing week 8 tomorrow) so hopefully it will be the same for you. It was hardest at the time, and in terms of after effects.

Well done EJC1 it will get easier, you won’t need to order a Stannah stair lift....trust me, stick with it, your doing great 👍
