1st consolidation run today and decided to go a completely different route.
All was going well and then 2.5k into my 1st run without Michael my spotify stopped. I ran for a few minutes trying to sort it out but it wouldn't work. I presumed that strava had stopped too so took out headphones and battled on.
I had to guess where I thought I needed to stop so just a picked a point in my head that I thought could be about 5k.
When I stopped, realised my strava had recorded it all and it was 5.32k with my 5k time being 31.17🎉🎉 very proud and surprised at myself!
I also won't be running without music again if I can help it, made it a really hard run with no distraction

Yes, I had a pronounced need for the distraction & so happily used a variety of music or radio 4 podcasts. I used to switch off for a short time if I was weary of the noise in my ear and then switch back on again. Eventually one beautiful day when skylarks were singing and there was sun and a soft breeze, I switched off and found that I didn’t want to switch it back on again! I mix it up now depending on the mood of the moment. 😄
