In January 20 I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.

Between Jan 20 - Jul 20 I lost 4 stone body weight with diet alone. I have some way to go but am confident I can hit a healthy BMI before the end of the year.

In Aug 20 I decided to take up C25K to help with my fight against diabetes - I really want to put it into remission.

I did my first run yesterday which was challenging to say the least, but I feel great for it (despite aching today). I'm hoping I can stay on track and complete the program.

Can anyone offer some advice for a complete beginner?

Jog slowly. This programme is all about duration and not about distance or speed.

Don't skip the rest days. Drink enough.

Have fun. The first weeks are often the most challenging.

PS. Congratulations on getting out there and making a start. 🍾

With the weight loss you’ve achieved, you definitely have the determination needed to see this through. It’s tougher at the beginning than the end but the programme really works even if looking ahead seems daunting. Follow nowster’s sage advice and go for it!
