W5R3 done! Yay!

Week 5 has been a transition week from treadmill to outdoors. I’ve finally done my playlist (150bpm) after some trial and error and found my stride. So today I completed the 20 min continuous run. Yay! Go me! It wasn’t easy but it was comfortable and so much nicer running outside in the early morning coolness of the day in a local beauty spot. It boosted me on at 10 minutes when Shawadiwaddy’s Under the moon of love came on my playlist 😂. It was also nice to have my hubby cycling along beside me (2 dodgy knees). What a way to start a Monday morning. I was a bit late starting work (from home so I’ll make it up) but I’m supposed to be super productive now so we’ll see 😂😊

Good music choice, congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾 😊

Do you mind if I ask if you just carried on with the plan to outside? I am currently running on the treadmill and thought I would get a bit of weight off and then start from Week 1 outside.

I did W5R1 on the treadmill then repeated it on the road. I found road running much harder than the treadmill and my legs really ached afterwards but I managed it. I allowed myself 2 rest days between runs then moved on to R2. I was going to repeat the run again but advice given on here encouraged me to move on so I did. My second outside run was easier and I didn’t have the increased ache like before so I felt confident enough to try R3 and managed it. I’ve struggled to find my pace on the road as you run faster on the treadmill but I’ve found it now and have adjusted more quickly than I thought. Again the advice given on here assured me I would. Good luck with your transition to the road. I wouldn’t go back to week 1, just drop back a run or two to give yourself time to adjust. It’s not as difficult as you think. Find somewhere nice to run and it’s so much better than the treadmill 😊
