As it was my 60th Birthday in April, I thought it would be a good idea to do C25K. Other than suffering a cold around half way through (I only missed 6 days) it seemed to go pretty smoothly. Sarah Millican looked after me well!
I've never been a runner a such, but have had a problem with pain outside my knee in the past (IT band) - I made sure I worked on my glutes on rest days, which I think helped. I used Caroline Jordan's You Tube video (youtube.com/watch?v=SIsnV-R..., but you will need a resistance band for this.
I think the secret for me was to try to relax and keep my head still (I found that music really helps) - I pushed on a little bit in my final run this morning because I thought I could try to get to 5k - in the end it took me 31m 43s - which I'm really happy with.
I'm looking for tips now to keep it going as I'm going to miss Sarah on my next one!
