How do you prepare differently for running at different times of the day?

I much prefer running first thing in the morning, somehow it seems easier, but I have three kids, and with the school run it’s just not possible all the time. So sometimes I have to run in the evening and these runs are so hard! How can I prepare better to run when already tired? Thank you!

My experience of evening running has meant that it is now a very rare event, simply because after a day doing physical work I just do not have the energy.

Maintaining your hydration levels throughout the day is crucial, but perhaps you need to adjust your demands and expectations of those evening runs..........run slower and keep the duration short.

All that said, it is light well before 5am these days, so with an early night, perhaps you could run in the mornings.........it is a lovely time to run.

On evening run days I make sure I eat a good lunch... and keep sipping the water. I try to have a short meditation before any run, but it’s more important to me for an evening one... I need to be relaxed when I lace those shoes.
