Week 4 Run 2

I didn't sleep well last night, what I mean is I woke way too early, Mrs LeeU had left the bedroom window open due to it being warm but then in the night there were some really cold winds with the rain.

I rarely use an alarm clock but this has the habit of backfiring sometimes, I don't overlay, I wake up too early and keep looking at the clock, which is what happens more often than not, on run days.

I felt so tired I actually thought about running tomorrow instead of today but I'm considering another bike ride tomorrow and didn't want to do the two on the same day (mainly due to a time issue of getting back, showered and ready to start work at 9am).

I filled my water bottle and jumped onto the treadmill, I'm already starting to think about next Friday when I should hit W5R3, I'm not concerned about it, I'm actually looking forward to it. I've done the program a couple of times already and am of the mindset that if I end up practicing that run next week, then I'll get it the next time.

By the time this had all gone through my mind and I'd thought about everything to do with it, etc, it was coming up for the last 5 minute run. It was warm in the conservatory again and it wasn't helping so I took my running t-shirt off again and did the last run without it, quite refreshing if I'm honest.

Breathing and heart rate steady all through the run, I can't state this enough, anyone who is struggling with their breathing while jogging/running, have a look at belly breathing, crack this and the program is soo much easier in my opinion.

Happy running everyone.

Well done on your run, despite the poor nights sleep- and I agree about the belly or diaphragmatic breathing. Definitely improves oxygen intake and you feel as though you are properly filing your lungs! Good luck when you get to W5R3 - take it steady, most find it a real boost to find that it is not as hard as they fear! 🙂

Hi Sandraj39 I've already done the program twice previously, I've never really had a problem with any of the runs, just took them as they came, even W5R3, first time around I did run it a day early because I just had to know if I could do it.
