This is my 4th attempt at C25K. I gave up on week 3 twice due to shin splints and on my 3rd attempt shin splints stopped me on week 1. I thought that was it, running was not for me.

Then came the lockdown and we started cycling as a family to make sure my teenage children were exercising. Although I’ve always cycled a bit, I’d not cycled regularly for decent distances. Once I became better at cycling, I decided to give C25K one more go. I thought I’d have to repeat some of the runs/weeks but thanks to all the cycling, I’ve just completed week 5. No shin splints! No repeats! I would have never imagined I’d run 20 minutes with no break. Not even when I was a teenager. I now believe I can complete the training. By the way I am obese and over 40. So if I can do it, anyone can
