Expensive treat finally puts week 4 to bed!

Week 4 has been a hellish 3 week viscous circle of great feeling runs followed soon after by days of left knee pain for me. Something had to change so.....

I got my bike out for the first time in a while and cycled a nice hilly route for an hour on the days I should’ve ran but couldn’t! It’s helped maintain any stamina gains I had made and made my legs and knees stronger. Plus early summer cycles in the countryside aren’t too much of a chore anyway (apart from the uphill bits of course) so Win win!

On Wednesday and then Friday this week, I completed runs 2 and 3 of week 4 with no problems and after another nervous 24 hr wait, so far my knee still feels ok.

So I’ve finally finished week 4.....I’m ready for week 5!

(Oh........It might also have something to do with the very expensive running shoes I treated myself to as an incentive to keep going 😉😉)

(Oh.......or the ice, the foam roller and ibuprofen gel)

I’m learning something new everyday with this Running thing!! Like how expensive it is 🤣🤣🤣

Onwards and upwards. Good luck everyone!

Well done - cycling is great cross training for runners I'm sure you will reap the benefits. 💪 And yes, whoever said that running was a cheap sport has not seen my ever- growing collection of running shoes!😳😳😉
