I did my first run of week 7 yesterday. I got to five minutes and stopped for a few seconds as I thought I might have to turn back. I could feel my breath was really short compared to usual - I think it might have been because it was a bit windy, but I’d also been feeling quite heavy and sluggish all day. I started up again, and finished, but goodness that first 5 minutes felt rubbish. Hope the next outing is better! It’s the first time I’ve stopped since starting the programme and it has knocked my confidence a bit.
Week 7 - almost gave up for the first time! - Couch to 5K
Week 7 - almost gave up for the first time!
I think week 7 is a killer! I'm also on week 7 now, did run 2 yesterday and it's just felt a bit meh. I remember the first time I went through the programme, w7r1 was the first time I was close to stopping. Maybe it's the longer runs, perhaps a longer break in between would give us a bit more recovery time?
Running in the wind is also very tough, is there a way you can do most of it with the wind as opposed to against it?
What I have found though is that sometimes we're just off, for whatever reason, but the next run is always better. Don't let this get you down. You managed to get through it despite it all, make sure you appreciate that, think back to your old self 7 weeks ago - would you ever have imagined you'd be able to do that?? 🙂
Thanks so much for your supportive words - I really appreciate them. Maybe I should have turned around and run in the opposite direction and used the wind power! It sounds like you’re doing amazingly well.
