It depends what you’re looking for really. There are lots of trackers that all offer slightly different things, but all do the distance/pace/map thing that we all need.
I have a Garmin watch, which then syncs data to my two other apps.
I use Nike Run Club (preinstalled on the Nike version of Apple Watch) for its guided runs. I like to have some coaching on some runs, and also like that everything on this app is free.
I also sync to Strava, which I’ve only started recently after resisting for 20 or so months... it’s like a Facebook for runners, and also has the ability to log cycling, walking, and pretty much any activity all in one place. Strava does the basics for free, with lots more analysis available on subscription.
Other people have different apps, and we all have our favourites. Hopefully you’ll get a list of apps and their unique selling points.
I believe Apple also has a built in app, which can even record your run if you forget to press start, but I’m not sure which models it is on, and having never used it I don’t know how it compares.
I have an Apple Watch and just use the workout app, the one with the black stick man on the green background, it logs all the info in the activity app on your phone 😊
I also have an Apple Watch, and use the Workout App. I set it for Outside Run, and it does it thing in the background. Use the Activity App on your iPhone to look at the data and the map of your run.
