OMG. WK7 run 1, smashed it - 8.15am Saturday, great run, felt good, did 3.8k and average pace 6.38, run 2, hated it - 6pm Tuesday, felt so hard right from the start.50 seconds in and I was ready to quit (didn't), 5 minutes in needed a wee (didn't), 6 minutes in got a stitch. 12.5 minutes felt like I'd run up the side of a Pyramid (hadn't) and by 20 minutes I was convinced Laura was having a Giraffe (she wasn't). Well I got there - 25 minutes (and wanted to stop with every treacle heavy step I took). Laura called me a Runner (I wasn't). 3.5k and average speed 7.18 - enjoyed the 5 minute walk though.

I looked at my pace per k after the run and noticed I'd gone out way too quick at 5.4 for over 2 minutes, then the pace settled to just over 7.2/7.3 and then a quicker last 2 to 3 minutes. But I really didn't enjoy this run. Looking back I didn't drink any water all day before the run (buckets were consumed after as I dragged my sweaty, damp self to the kitchen). Plus my hay-fever and mouth breathing (in and out, no nose (I have a nose but I don't use it o breath)) didn't help. Best shower ever.

Run 3 on Friday..... need a good one to take some momentum into wk 8. Feeling a bit :( but at least I've done 3 non stop runs on the trot now & Laura thinks I'm a runner (I think she likes me).

Good luck if you are running today and stick with it guys, if I can do this then you can...

There are good and bad runs and everything in between. You should be proud of yourself you kept going even when it was hard and you've finished week 7, what a result!! Just two weeks to go, you can do this :)

Well done on getting to the end. I did wk7 r1 this morning and had heavy legs all the way. Know I didn't drink enough yesterday. Sarah is my coach and she got told to s*d off when she said to try increasing the pace a minute from the end! My stats are way slower than yours, my excuse, I only have little legs!!

Good luck on run 3 of the week and getting to the end. Put today's run down to a learning one - drink more and wee before you go!! 😉

Maybe take the next run slow and steady..these runs are perfect for relaxing into.

The newly forming running legs need to find their happy pace.... let them take you and just go with it:)

Great hydration is important every single day, especially in this warmth and the humidity today... and finishing each run with something left in you tank is one to aim for. Distance and speed will follow ... You are a runner... so take it easy and enjoy:)
