Shin splints - stability trainers

I’m really struggling with week 4 run 2, I’ve had to stop twice and I think I’m really needing some stability trainer, I’ve seen 3 in my budget ASICS, brooks and new balance, are any better for stability?

Brooks asteria, new balance synact, Asics Gel Pheonix and Saucony Fastwich are all ones I've been looking at.

I like the look of the brooks asteria but don't know if they'll be too light.

Any advice? I had my gait checked years ago and I've checked it on the Brooks site too so I know I definitely over-pronate (I feel like my knees knock together a bit when i'm tired with running) but other than that i'm clueless.

Also, think about insoles. I was starting to get shin splints, so I invested in some superfeet “pain relief” insoles, whilst expensive they stopped the shin pain almost immediately. Given I run mainly on roads, I think these insoles greatly improved the cushioning of my feet, despite having decent Brooks running shoes. Guess lots of companies must make decent running insoles, so worth having a look around.

I run in brooks beast 18’s and they definitely help. But they do need to get used to running in if you haven’t used stability before. My feet were killing me for the first few runs. I find ASICS softer
