Exertional Compartment Syndrome.... Help needed !!

So I’m in week 7 , lungs are on board with the project now but ECS has struck , and is worsening .

Running every other day , the length of time I can run without stopping has reduced from 25 minutes to 18 to 15 to 12. I can do the 25 minutes in total , but not without giving my anterior calf muscle time to drain a little (30 seconds ) before restarting my runs .

Has anyone experienced this , better still any solutions to offer ?

Have you been formally diagnosed with ECS? If so, what advice were you given relating to repetitive exercise?

If not, in the first instance try having 2 rest days in between and ensure you keep your pace right down, remember "conversational pace"

I was diagnosed as having compartmentation syndrome as a 17 year old . I was about to become a professional cricketer. It only displayed itself on my left calf after prolonged spells of fast bowling . I would lose the ability to lift my foot . I was told to stop bowling fast or risk emergency amputation of my left leg below the knee . I went on to play pro rugby without this issue recurring.

have you had any kind of follow up since? 17 was a wee while ago and your body may not have completely finished developing.. 🤔

I've read that overtraining can be a factor which might have affected you at the time.

Odd that a surgical resolution wasn't recommended if it was that dire too.
