I’m a courier and walk up to 7 miles a day on work days. I’ve then been doing this programme, completing the runs on my days off. I’m currently on W2R3 (before starting C25K I was still going to the gym on my days off)
So I’ve not actually had a proper ‘rest day’ for a good few weeks now and today, a day off, I’m feeling so tired and achey, with the sorest throat, and I feel like I should spend the day on the sofa and be lazy.
My question is, has anyone had to have a longer gap between runs? As if I don’t run today it’ll be 4 or 5 days between my previous and next run. (Providing that I don’t actually end up with tonsillitis/chest infection - which I’m prone to 😅)
Once I’m feeling better should I pick up where I was or do the previous run again?

Lots of waking on run days and rest days is ideal. If you are feeling unwell don't run a few extra non run days is fine. You don't lose any fitness in 2 weeks so you should be fine to start where you left off. Hope you're feeling better soon😊
Hey, I had a week off due to a cold and was demotivated to get back to it, but the encouragment from the guys on here really helped.
You don't need to start again, maybe just take it a bit slower for the first run. I think its important to stop when your body tells you to otherwise it could get worse.
I walk a lot, gym and run but sometimes my body just says no to it all and I take a few days off everything. I have found out to my cost not to do that usually results in an infection or bug of some kind. Our bodies have a way of making us feel like we shouldn’t run just when we shouldn’t, my advice would be to listen to it. A couple of days rest is not going to make any difference in the big scheme of things but not having a rest could mean having to take extra rest days because you have a bug. Look after yourself and happy running. Rfc x
