Run 2 Week 3. Dag nabbit. Hurt my calf muscle, the other one this time. Just started the second run and remebering all the advice on how to run by landing on the middle of your foot so gave it a try and the muscle popped up to say hello and ask what the hell I was doing. I told it I was jogging and he better get used to it. I think he took it on board and never got any worse but it never went away. Anyway, I carried on at a gentler pace (or so I thought) and checking the stats, my second kilometre was my best yet. Don't know what to take from this but i'm happy. KT tape to the rescue and no running till Tuesday.

Well done. Perhaps try not to track your pace at all and just go slowly and gently. That might stop the pain!

Well done.

The best way to avoid heelstriking is to slow down and keep footfall under your body, not out in front.

It is not advisable to try to alter the way your foot naturally strikes the ground unless under the supervision of an experienced coach, otherwise, as you have proved, this can lead to injury.

Take care.

Well done, gentle stretching out after each run to keep those calf muscles fit. Dont over think your running too much. Happy running
