Yes - week 1 run 5. I am repeating the week 1 running plan because my shins/knees/piriformis have been quite painful and I don't want to push myself into an injury. It feels as if it's going to have to be a slower build up for me than the official schedule. Ah well, at least I am off my backside and getting out there which is something I would not have thought possible a while ago. Determined to get to the 5k even if it takes a lot longer than I would like. Curse my previous sedentary lifestyle.

I found Wk 1 really hard, especially as I was running in trainers I’d got from a cheapie shop. I was advised on here to invest in some decent shoes that were fitted by a professional. It’s made a huge difference (still wheezing like a good ‘un though!) They have certainly helped with my previously sore shins and the stabbing pains in my insteps.

Well done. It doesn't matter how long it takes - you will get there. Take things slowly and try to land as gently as you can (aim to run silently) so that you take some of the force out of the impact. Good luck!
