Having spent the last two weeks laid low with a heavy cold and subsequent chesty cough, I deliberated over whether to pick up where I left off with C25K. My last run, W3R1, was two weeks ago. Would losing 2 weeks mean that I would struggle? Should I go back to W2 or just go for it?
So, yesterday, my 14yo daughter said she would run with me when she got home from school. Late afternoon was gloomy and the air damp, the sort of afternoon for keeping cosy indoors. However, we kitted up with reflective garb and set off. I don't know if it was sheer determination or the fact that I had the company of my lovely girl, but I did it! Plenty of water beforehand and following all the previous advice on keeping it slow made it seem like a breeze. I even had energy during the second 3-min run to put on a spurt of speed to get past an oncoming car that stopped for us to pass on a narrow lane. Completely surprised myself!
Looking forward to the final W3 run tomorrow. I'm just so impressed with this programme.
