Week 6 done but my hip hurts!

Just completed my first ever 25 minute run. I felt brilliant and could have done more in terms of fitness which is astounding as I was so unfit 7 weeks ago. Only thing is that I am getting hip pain in outside of my hip when I go uphill. Ok on the flat and downhill. Any advice?

Well done on your 25 minute run! 👏👏👏 Fantastic stuff. 😊 Soooo close to 30 minutes now!

Maybe try some hip and glute strengthening? I imagine hips and glutes are what drives us when we are powering up hills. If you Google “hip strengthening for runners” and “glute exercises for runners” you will get some options. I love weighted squats and glute bridges for me buns of steel. 😁

Also, check out the Strength and Flex forum for ideas - lots of helpful and knowledgeable folk on there. 👍

All the best!

Well done.

Are you wearing proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis?

Are you following the advice in the guide to the plan on minimising impact?
