My husband and I were doing quite well on the programme had reached week 4 and were actually quite proud of ourselves (as both of us were very unfit). But then I developed sciatica in December and we had to stop for several weeks. Although we have started up again now and have dropped back to Week 3 I’m now still getting a lot of back pain when I’m running (which I wasn’t before the sciatica). I’m worried now that I might have to give up the whole programme if I can’t get it sorted what do you guys think.

Back Problem
Maybe a trip to the GP? You don’t want to do more damage.
Definitely a trip to Gp but have you tried Kinesiology tape ? I use it on my back and it’s amazing. You can get quite cheaply.
I would also recommend some exercises to work on your core strength - you can find some on YouTube.
Core-strength exercises strengthen your core muscles, including your abdominal muscles, back muscles and the muscles around the pelvis. Strong core muscles make it easier to do many physical activities and reduce the risk of injuries.
Good luck 🙂 Let us know how you get on.
Runners need good core strength, otherwise they can very easily suffer back pain, especially in the lower back.
For me this was cured by doing regular core strengthening exercises, involving planks and bridges.
With your history of sciatica, it would be wise to consult your GP before embarking on this course of exercise.
