I went to the gym yesterday morning, I was like a kid on Christmas Day (without the ankle issues though from this year!), I went on the treadmill to do a walking warm up, 5 minutes brisk and then a 5 minute hill walk.

After that I jumped on the Cross Trainer, boy, that was different, I wasn't using it correctly as it was my legs doing most, if not all the work. I went on the stepper after that and didn't really like that one. Shoulder press machine followed that and then back to the treadmill to cool down a little and wait for Mrs LeeU who was about to complete a 30 minute run.

As you can tell, I had no set program or aims except to go and start getting used to it being a non-run day habit.

Back to today, as my ankle has been ok with no aches, pains or niggles I decided to up the speed by 0.5kph with the aim of completing 20 minutes. So I did 30 minutes with a 30, 20, 10 thrown it at the end.

I did have some residual aching from yesterday but that was mainly in my left thigh, my right thigh was fine.

I'm now sat hear cooling down a little prior to showering ahead of a day at the (remote) office.

Tomorrow is another gym day, I'm going to aim to do my arms and shoulders with chest and back on Thursday.

Great, a 30 minute run with no ankle issues. You must be so pleased 😊😊

That's now my 3rd 30 minute run, the first with the increased speed and, while it is a good start, I have a little more to go before I get back to where I were.

Before long I will have to get outside again, there's an itch I just can't scratch and I think a nice long slow outdoor run may scratch it.
