Endorphins?

Was just puzzling why I sometimes get a high and other times not.

Runs the same time, length and pace.

Anyone have any idea?

I don't know but the same happens to me. Maybe it's to do with my mood before I go out, or my expectation of the run. I do know I always come home smiling when the sun is out, even if it's cold and I always come home in a bad mood from the treadmill at the gym. 🤷‍♀️

Good question! Don’t know the answer. Those runs that give a high do yield maximum motivation for the next run though.

This happens to me too. Today's run was horrible but other times it feels so fantastic. I think it's to do with my route mainly. I was tired today and felt super sleepy afterwards- other days the run leaves me buzzing for the rest of the day

Yes I think the route and sunshine make a difference, but I also find I feel a bigger buzz when the run felt harder. Maybe it’s the sense of achievement at having finished when I wanted to keel over!
