I have generally tried to do a yoga or pilates session on at least one of my rest days. A friend mentioned trying Zumba tomorrow which sounded fun. However, I have no idea of what it entails (other than moving to music ) and if it is the sort of thing that I can do and not run a risk of injury. I love running too much to risk it if it is the wrong sort of activity.
Any advice?
Thanks

Zumba is high energy and great fun and I suspect it should be ok because it’s not putting your body under the same sort of stresses as running but getting your heart rate up all the same! I’m not an expert though!
As far as I know it’s low impact... so is fine. Running has both feet off the ground lots and it’s that particular aspect that defines “high impact” and needs rest days between sessions. So, the way I see it I could do a routine that involved a few burpees (though I like to avoid them 🤣) but I wouldn’t take on a session that was all burpees and star jumps for half an hour (I wouldn’t if I wasn’t a runner, but I hope you see what I mean! This started in my head making a lot of sense, but let me know if it needs translation into English 🤣)
