Running is high impact and actually damages muscle fibres, which repair and strengthen on your rest days. Gentle non impact exercise will be beneficial as it will increase blood flow and repair without adding to the damage.
Only you can decide whether your exercise is high impact.........you may charge around the tennis court like Andy Murray, or it may be a more sedate affair.
Take care, listen to your body and perhaps err on the side of caution.

You have your answer Non impact is fine.. cycle, walk, climb..yoga, swim or Pilates.. Garden or housework? All improving stamina and strength, and letting those legs rest
