How are you finding doing the run when on your period, last time I struggled on the run and this time it's my first 25 min run and I'm wondering what to do ,

I think it hits us all differently. I was worse the week before then felt great on the week, some like you it is the actual week, remember that being on actually takes calories so if you are on a very calorie restrictive diet that needs to be taken into consideration for your run and having enough fuel. I hope the next run is ok. Rfc x

I’m on my hols and on my period. I felt terrible yesterday, the worst ever before any run. W7r2

I pushed on through because I just wanted to keep on track.

I got through and surprised myself that I did it. I felt that my head was detached from my body.... which was probably not a bad thing.

Ultimately it’s down to how you feel... we’re all different. But it might not be as bad as you think.

I was fortunate in that during the first half or more of C25k I didn’t need to run on the first day as that’s always the worst, or could put off a run for a day easily. However, the more I progressed the more I realised that my cramps were on the whole better than they had been before I started running and I have generally been ok. I agree about being well fuelled and I tend to retain fluid before and then pee like a horse in the first day or two so getting hydration right is important too. The first time I ran 5miles, a month ago, was the first day and all was well, but this week I couldn’t run on day one, although this was the first time it had happened

Hi, I have found that it actually helped. I was in quite a bit of pain but then after about 5 mins the pain eased and was able to focus more on the run. I think if you are feeling very ill with it though you should just take an extra days rest. Hope it goes well and you are feeling ok x
