Breathing is a struggle!

As a complete novice and very unfit 49 year old, I've surprised myself with my willpower for this. I surpassed all expectations by completing W5. However, I've found week 6 a massive struggle. My breathing after 5 or 6 minutes is all over the place. Any solid tips on controlling my breathing ??

Slow down and keep going. It’ll sort itself out once you get through about 8 minute runs.

Yes, I think it's sign you're trying too hard - you think you're a runner, eh? Remember that you should be able to hold a conversation while you're running.

Try forget about it, run slow and think about anything else.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and covers breathing, but the basic principle is that if you cannot breathe easily, you are going too fast.
