Great job. First step up ✅
Weight loss has little to do with running, but of course activity is needed for health.

The above link will calculate your BMI and give you a calorie range to eat to lose weight. Eating at the upper end of that range is the best way to do it, weight loss should be slow and sustainable. Keep the activity up and you should have the result you want over time.
Don’t get disappointed if you step on the scales and see zero weight loss. As you burn fat and build muscle you can even go up in weight slightly. Use a tape measure and check regularly... running will tone you up so when the scales don’t give you a number you like, the tape measure may show a loss of size.
Eat something after a run, be it a meal or a small protein portion. This will help with any temptation to snack... the body will be asking for protein, but your mind may just say “hungry”. My daughter does this by talking a small part of her next meals protein and eating it post run... literally a small slice of piece of chicken. She’s lost two dress sizes and no longer snacks.
Good luck on both journeys
Move more..eat less..eat healthy and then move more...😊
If takes time...but if you combine healthy eating and this plan, you should feel fitter, stronger and ready to rock !
