Went out this morning early in beautiful weather. Surprisingly tired after the first 90 second run so slowed down for the 3 minutes and it was much easier. A few other runners were overtaking me with long strides. Didn’t let feeling silly stop me though. So happy at the finish - walking home to my old Motown playlist! Looking forward to R3 😊.

Well done. You did it and listened to the fact your body was telling to slow it down. Slow and steady is the best policy. Being passed by others is going to happen and no you shouldn't feel anything but proud you are off the couch.
Yeah go,very slowly, which we keep having to reiterate by the way. It’s your run so don’t worry about anyone else. Keep your stride short! Have you read the programme notes as these cover all the usual questions It’s a good read 👍😃🏃♀️
Good job. Slowly is the best way... those long striding speed demons have been doing this a lot longer.
Thank you for all your replies - I really appreciate them. Yes, it’s good to be reminded that those long-striders have been doing it for a while - and I am very much a (late) beginner. But this programme, and the forum, has already done so much for me, physically and mentally too. Can’t quite believe i’ve Come this far and still enjoying it! About to visit Canada for 2 weeks and intend to carry on there!
