8 minute runs was a good challenge. Definitely couldn’t do any more tonight. Happy I finished and looking forward to the final run of week 5. Shame I have to do this tomorrow and won’t get my normal rest.

Thinking of signing up for a 5k run on October 7th in Plymouth. Good motivation to keep going then.

aaah did you do this today? cue all the warnings about rest days ... it's not really a rest, it's a repair day (and you can do non-impact exercise on those days, it's good). If you can't get to your run for a couple of days, it's better than running consecutive days as a new runner. You might be fine, but why put yourself at extra risk?

PS sorry if that sounded stern! There's an interesting read linked to in the main FAQ about the need to build yourself up slowly and the speed and processes by which your muscles, tendons and bones repair and strengthen. The bones are particularly interesting - they break down a bit before building back up stronger!
