** update ** Hip felt much better this afternoon as not on shopping duty till later on (aargh) so decided to try it. It was the hardest run of the week but it’s done and hip just it’s usual
Post run self. Thanks for your support. In future I’ll do just as you said and listen to my body!! **
I covered 8,000 steps yesterday trailing round shops on holiday with my elderly mobility impaired mother (sometimes walking ahead and then coming back as my back gets sore if I walk too slowly) but my right hip is sore this morning and I feel as if I did a hard run. I need to get w2r3 in the bag today but I feel just now the way I felt on one w1 rest day - sore and needing to recover. I hate aimlessly traipsing round shops!! Strangely yesterday I could have happily done my third run without a rest day but decided to stick with the programme. I’ve been driving a lot as well so feeling pretty meh!

Poor you - I loathe shopping and traipsing around aswell - whereas hubby would happily do it all day 😊
See how you feel later - but if you need to take an extra day don't feel bad about it - we're not robots and you need to listen to your body. If your just a bit achy then maybe give it a go - if you have actual pain then you might make it worse with a run.
Good luck and hope you're fighting fit again soon x
Take an extra rest day, hon. Sounds like your hip would appreciate it. There's no rush. The run's still happily pootling around outside and waiting for you
It sounds like you need to rest today. Usually the answer would be that walking on a rest day is fine. However on this occasion your body seems to be telling you otherwise so it makes sense to heed what your body is telling you. W2R3 will still be there to run when you’re ready.
Thanks folks for your feedback. I feel as if I need another rest day but was wrestling with my conscience to make sure I wasn’t putting a barrier in the way of my run today. I’m not though, my hip is sore, and as people have said, the run will wait for me until I’m ready. Xx
