Beasties and Flooers

You know how your mind wanders when you’re out for a run? Well I was mincing by the flower beds in the park which have been sown with wild flower seed - mostly as a cost-cutting exercise - but they are really pretty. They were full of insects and wee birds.

It got me thinking about local dialect and language words for insects, birds and plants. Doric is spoken in and around Aberdeenshire and bumble bee in Doric is foggy bummer 🐝🐝🐝.

Not strictly running related, but I’d love to hear some other examples x.

Ok I am officially now going to speak Doric when I see a bumble bee, so I can go around saying foggy bummer 😂😂😂. My mind goes all over when I run, I tend to compose great posts for here, come home jump in the shower and then forget them all 😀.
