So today I went for my 3rd post-grad run and decided to do the βFull 4kβ which I knew would take me slightly longer than 30 minutes at my π pace.
I was making good progress running my familiar route, and I was pleased when MapMyRun lady piped up that Iβd done 3.75km and I was on just under 28 minutes, so for me ok.
There was a man walking along my chosen path, a tiny bit slower than I was running (π) and I passed him like one of those lorries overtaking another on the motorway which is going 2mph slower! Still I made it past and felt quite pleased.
I probably only stopped running for 20 seconds, so I ran on beyond the 4k mark to make it up. I did 4.18km, which is my longest run to date! ππ Iβve decided to continue doing 2 x 30 minute runs per week plus a 4k one until itβs below 30 minutes, then Iβll start upping the time on that run. Kind of makes sense to me!
Happy running all you lovely folk! πββοΈπππ

Really Mike? I have no idea - I assumed because I was over a kilometer off 5k in 30 minutes I was snailing along. My best 30 minuter in W9 was 3.72km, so I suppose I have sped up a little bit! Ooo, exciting! π
Iβm usually Mon/Wed/Fri, but will change to Sat when I start Parkrun! Iβll give it a couple more weeks then get out there! π πββοΈππ
Well done π. Sounds a good (and manageable) strategy to me - itβs sort of what Iβd decided in my head. Work on pace and gradually increase distance. After that- who knows? One step at a time ππββοΈπββοΈπ
I pretty much decided to do the same thing, but changed my route, I got my husband to drop me off at one end of our local park, I ran along the river which I enjoyed, but I must admit found a bit difficult with the wind against me, but I did it with the usual slow snail pace, then realized I had to walk back home. That added an extra 20 mins up hill, to say I was exhausted was an understatement, spent the rest of the day doing nothing !!
