I run in the woods, rough paths, dog poo, roots, stones, not flat, more poo, be nice to run on the pavement. I did the other week, but all i could taste was fuel fumes, was not a main road. With recent news reports about pollution and heart disease I feel the best place is the woods. The seafront would be good but thats 8 miles away. Anyone else worry about it or is it just me. We do take in alot of air, well I do, lol, panting away like a steam train. Is it worth the drive I wonder

I love to run in the green stuff... running down the pavements doesn’t interest me in the slightest, so I’m pretty much trail and park only at this point. Seafront not a regular option for me, I live in the most landlocked county, but there are a lot of reservoirs near me.
Not sure if making the pollution worse just to get away from it is a great idea 😂 but to get to a happy place running it is 😀
I was speaking to at trail runner recently and asked 'what is the difference between running a trail or a normal road run'? he told me that running the trail gets you closer to nature and away from concrete and traffic, yes I agree, I cycle and now run as much away from roads as much as possible, pollution is not a very good thing for runners, I agree.
Badger poo Fox poo dog poo probably left by the tiny minority of people who have dogs but don’t act responsibly, but the woods are still a joy. So much to see and hear as the seasons change and the weather changes. Ground as nature intended and yes it’s trickier but do much better. Flat pavement can damage joints and feet did not evolve for flat surfaces. Please know that all running has drawbacks but nothing compares to the pleasures, and I at least prefer the woods to road fumes. Oh that life was perfect but nothing really is, not in the long run (sorry)
