Day after Week 1 Run 1

I started yesterday! I’m planning on do two of the three per week runs on a treadmill at the Gym and one run outside to get used to running in both environments.

I started yesterday at the Gym, walking at a pace of 5.5 and running at 6.8-7.0.

I didn’t find it easy, but it definitely wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be.

This morning I feel really well rested and motivated to keep at it! I’m very excited to see how this goes!

Well done and welcome. Plan sounds good but I would just say that TM and outdoors are chalk and cheese. For the treadmill have the incline at 1% to help mimic outdoors. Also try not to fixate on the numbers when on it, try to go by feel because when you are outdoors you won’t have them to run to, you will need to go by feel. You may also find yourself slower outside, that’s normal, due to probable different types of ground underfoot, temperature, windy or not and lots of other things. Not trying to put you off, just giving a heads up on the differences that you might not realise can have an impact.

Enjoy the journey, it’s a great one to take.

Well done and keep it up...I've just finished my first week and I would definitely say the first run is the hardest :-)

Welcome and well done getting started. I’ve done both treadmill and outside although not alternating like you are which would have been a better idea. Do what feels good for you and keep posting your progress
