Kissing W4 goodbye - W4R3

I'm not a natural early riser and being out of the door at 6 am kills me, plus when the alarm went off at 5.20 it was barely light this morning!!!

This morning's run just felt 'heavy', not horrible, but, for the first time, I was glad it was over. My right leg felt a bit achy to start with and it seemed to take a couple of minutes longer than usual to really find my rhythm :(

I'm sitting here with my (very welcome) morning coffee contemplating whether or not to try W5R1 in the afternoon after work and after I've walked the dogs (therefore, pretty loosened up by then). My worry is that then it's hanging over me all day, at least in the morning there is almost an 'up and at 'em' attitude.

Sorry if that's all a bit rambly but does anyone got any thoughts on morning v's afternoon/evening running?

Well done boniobiscuits you got the job done!!! Maybe it's the change in weather I had heavy legs today too.

I prefer the morning as less people and plus I feel great all day after a run it has a knock on effect. But..I start an hour later than you, try a pm one, try anything but keep on running! 👍👍😊

Wise words Gingernutter and you've cheered me up :-) I'm heading off to work with 7.8k on my legs from one run and one dog walk, so that's not a bad thing is it?

I think my mojo just needs a reboot and a kick up the proverbial..., I bet I'll be happy and bouncy on Friday morning ;-)

I am up early for mine although the winter will be harder. I’ve tried doing it pm but like you it is on my mind all day and also worry about when to eat etc

I have chosen to do the morning runs for a number of reasons which I list below:

1. It makes my morning more productive.

2. I am not like a zombie whilst waiting for train/tube or worse yawning like mad during the journey. I am fully alert and fresh. Add a nice healthy breakfast after the run and it feels just so good.

3. Morning run brings a spring in my feet during the day and I work much more happily.

4. After a long day at work going for a run is more likely to keep u awake for longer in the night due to all the endorphins release.

PS: by nature I am a night owl but bad habits needs to be broken for good habits to be formed.
