Today I headed to the gym after work to complete W9R2, thinking that this was more intelligent than running outside in 28 degree heat! Alas, the air con at the gym wasn't on, so it was essentially running in a HOT room looking out a window. I was drenched in sweat after about 2 mins lol!
Persevered through the horrendous toxic 10, then 10-25 flew past, and the final 5 was difficult (probably because i started clock watching / the sweat was EVERYWHERE). Went at a steady pace of 8.5 km/h and ended up completing my 5k in 37 mins, not my fastest but really fine in this heat lol!
I've been thinking a lot recently about how far I've come since starting the programme, where I honestly found 3 mins on the treadmill / 2 mins outside almost impossible. Now, a full 5k can take me 34-38 mins without breaks, and I think things like "oh only 10 minutes left, that's easy", when literally only a couple of months ago running for 10 mins would have killed me off lol! Honestly think this programme works SO well.
I'm going to get up early Wednesday morning for graduation running before work! Hoping to complete the full 5k as I have been doing from about W8 (not in 30 mins though!) and then have my first post grad run as Saturday's park run.
