Am currently doing week 5 and realising the cheapie trainers I bought, in case I gave up after 1 run are absolutely rubbish, I am getting foot cramps after running and they hurt my big toes.... Soooo where do you get trainers from ? Any recommendations ? And how much do you need to spend to get a decent pair ? What do I need to know ?

If you go in to a running shop and let them know your budget good staff won't pressure you into buying the most expensive ones - which may not be the best for you anyway! Half to one size up seems normal.
Have your gait checked - it has been a game changer for me as my running shoes were causing knee and shin pain. Now I have ‘proper’ shoes - no more pain! (Mine are Nike Air - expensive but a good investment ... and a birthday pressie from hubby!)
