First post grad run tonight!

Well after the euphoria of graduating on Saturday thought it would be easy going out tonight! Wrong!! I missed hearing Jo's encouraging patter in my ear! Didn't feel structured at all! I know I am supposed to be consolidating but! Don't know that I will get to 10k! Disappointed!☹️

You will. You’ll get used to it soon enough. You could always use an app which will buzz at certain intervals for you if you like to know where you are up to.

Your run tonight can’t have been as horrendous as mine 😂

Hi, don’t beat yourself up! My first post grad run was an epic fail but I was so cross with myself after, come the next run I had a different mind set. I got my playlist sorted, a nice person on here suggested I download Runkeeper which I did and some of the voices are really fun (I’m using drill master or something like that). I’m just trying to go with it, build on my achievements so far and hopefully start to ‘enjoy’ running a full 30 minutes - I’m always so happy when it’s done! Sure I like the idea of 10k but as and when. At the moment I’m just aiming for three runs a week, varying the routes, time and distance - (especially in the recent heat). Just think of what you’ve achieved and set yourself small targets if need be. Good luck with post grad run 2!

Chelsea007 am I hearing you right? You’ve done an amazing job and look at you right back out there consolidating. 😉 We’ve taken this journey together and you can get to 10k! Remember consolidation is for 3 weeks, that’s another third of a programme, so please put that one down as not one of your favourite runs and keep going. Getting here, we’ve had a few of those haven’t we? You can do it, even without Jo! Why not try another App and see if you get on better with it. Or go back with Jo and then see if you can run on to get to a goal. I hear adding just 3 mins a week works well.

You know I like mystery, so I’m not so bothered about structure! But if you prefer it, there’s a way! You’re brilliant and you can do it! Big hugs to my fellow graduate! Purple is a nice colour! Let’s keep running! 😉❤️
