I want to be able to run a park run non stop, today is week 1 / day 1 I know im going to struggle its not my legs that let me down its my breathing, does anyone have any tips that might help a 46 year old fat guy feel like he isnt going to pass out by the second run interval 😂

Hi and welcome. That’s just the way it is unfortunately. I thought I was going to have a heart attack during week 1. Follow the programme and you'll be doing that parkrun in a couple of months. Keep going and good luck!

Welcome!

If you're struggling with breathing you just need to slow down 😉

I'm almost the same age as you, ex-smoker, very overweight and never run before. Breathing gets easier as you get fitter. You'll be surprised how quickly that happens, you just need to stick with it.

Slowwwwwwwly. Take your time. Breaking it down into sessions with this fab programme will deliver you your Parkrun. Just taking it slow your breathing will be fine you get breathing space on the sessions so don’t worry 🙂👍
