So there’s no denying my lack of speed now . At parkrun this morning I was running on the flashing light of empty in my runometer I passed a 3year old standing with his dad. ‘ she’s running so slowly daddy’ declared the tot 👿 I went past mumbling something about thanks for the encouragement. So it’s official I’m not running like the gazelle in my head BUT I have taken heart from the fact that he at least acknowledged I was running...

You’ve done very well to get out there and run, LookNannyruns !! I was volunteering at my local Parkrun this morning and it was so heartening and encouraging to see the ‘slower’ runners determinedly make it to the finish. It’s easy for those faster guys and gals, I think, but never underestimate how impressed we all are when everybody overcomes the heat and gets there! You’re a winner!

Yes the heat was a killer and that reduces the number of runners which seems to highlight my - aloneness- but I don’t care really I’ve just set myself the goal of running the whole thing every time.

Reminds me of a couple of years ago when a toddler pointed out to his dad there was a lady running - and as I drew level said "she might fall over". You can't really do anything but laugh.

Good on you for running at all in this heat.
