To be honest, I was planning for today to be a in the gym treadmill run. Running in the heat the past couple of times has been tough.
I wasn’t intending to wake up early today, I didn’t get to sleep till about 1am last night. But I guess it’s just the natural alarm clock, and thought stuff it, I’ll get up and go. I can always lie in bed a bit longer later if I want to 😂
It was so much cooler than it has been for me recently. I could tell as soon as Jo said go I was heading off a lot faster than normal. I slowed a little but kept going at a pace that felt good. Before you know it, 500m was done. Then I’d ran 5 minutes, then 1k, then before I knew it I was back on my final straight. With setting off a little quickly, I figured I’d finish short of the point I started. Turned out I actually got to that point a little too quickly!
This was my 3rd 25 minute run, and each time I’ve knocked 30 seconds off my km/min pace. Each run has been in different circumstances too though, I think it’s more down to that than anything else!
For the first time, I felt like my legs could carry on if I wanted to. Today breathing was a bit of an issue, and I went out for a meal last night and I think that gave me a bit of heartburn. Hopefully by the time this weeks over I will have sorted all my issues out and have a nice two weeks to graduation!
